I failed so many times, but eventually I learned what works best.

And here I’m going to share with you one simple strategy to quickly get new subscribers.

Newsletters cross promotion

So simple, yet powerful. Most of my new subscribers came from collaboration with other newsletters.

Here is how you can do it:

First find people who want to cross promote with you. Post a short announcement on social media, your newsletter or community.

Next, send a direct message to everyone interested. Describe what you can offer and what format.

Finally, agree on dates.

How to promote other creators in your newsletter?

There are a few ways to do so.

In my case it’s quite simple. I always share with my audience a few resources with short info and links.

So they can decide whether to click or not.

If your newsletter is a long form text, then you can just add a special section announcing collaboration. Like here:

Or you can label the sponsor, like here:

That’s all about it. Simple, right?

Remember, your newsletter is the most important asset.

This is the only thing you really own. So to grow your business you need to build an email list.

Final tips

  • Don’t ignore small newsletters. Everyone has to start with 0 subscribers (don’t include your mom 😀 ).

  • Do it regularly, every 2–3 months.

  • Try to test other niches where you can find your audience. If you write about side hustle don’t narrow it down only to solopreneurs. Go higher with newsletters focused on business or money in general.
