In the past, my digital notes were in chaos.

No structure.

No single place to store things.

No way to find anything.

But that has changed.

I was inspired by the PARA method by Tiago Forte. I tried to fully implement it, but after a few weeks I changed it slightly to better fit my schedule.

I’m a big fan of Apple products. I love their ecosystem, the way things work with each other. How apps sync between devices.

That’s why I organized my notes in Apple Notes app.

But, you can use any other app you like. I know that Nozbe, Notion or OneNote are very popular.

In the end, it doesn’t matter. You just need a structure. A system that works for you.

So, I organized my whole life with this structure:

Here is an explanation of the folders:

  1. Notes: my inbox, I clean it every Monday morning.

  2. Work: things related to my full-time job.

  3. Focus: everything I’m currently working on (monthly goals).

  4. Side Hustle: my after-hours project with sub-folders for important areas: newsletter, writing, Gumroad products and social media.

  5. Power Notes: my goals, vision, rules, motivational notes.

  6. Personal: health, workout plans, career, hobbies.

  7. Home: family notes shared with my wife, recipes.

  8. Files: admin notes.

If this looks like quite a lot to you, I can give you a little tip on how to boost it.

Add reminder in the Reminders app with a link to your note.

For example, I read my goals every week. So I have a reminder with a link to that note, so I can access it with one click.

You can do this with any note you want to use on a regular basis.

Also, remember to clean out your inbox regularly. Once a week is a good habit.
